Free, and free of the usual arrangement: nothing is sold here, no university or employer pays to appear, there are no accounts and no tracking of any kind. Every figure on every page carries the source it came from — that one included.
Why you can trust a number here
Every figure says where it came from.
Not as a promise in the small print — as a marker on the number itself. Hover the label beside the salary and it tells you the source, the year, and whether anyone actually measured it.
Where a figure is reasoned rather than measured, it says so and shows the reasoning. A site that hides one invented number has invalidated all the real ones.

The useful direction
“I like biology, but I don’t want to treat patients.”
Going deeper only tells you that medicine contains cardiology. Going sideways tells you this — and every one of these is a real job that thousands of people support a family doing.
- EpidemiologistDisease across whole populations, not individual patients
- Pharmaceutical ScientistTurns biological research into medicines that ship
- Orthotist & ProsthetistBuilds the limbs and braces that give people back movement
- PhysicistThe physics of medicine — imaging, radiotherapy, instrumentation
- GeologistLiving systems swapped for the physical planet
- Registered NurseIf it turns out the patients were the part you wanted
The size of the gap
Name one job in each of these.
Most people manage two. Every one of them employs hundreds of thousands of people, and almost none of them get mentioned at school.
- Diagnostics, Laboratory & Public HealthHealth work with little or no patient contact. If you like biology but do not want to treat people, this is the part of medicine nobody tells you about.4 areas · 1 written
- Maritime, Transport & Supply ChainMoving goods and people across the world. Largely invisible as a career choice, and structurally central to a trading economy.4 areas · 1 written
- Mathematics, Statistics & Actuarial ScienceCareers where mathematical ability is the product rather than a prerequisite. Small fields, high barriers, and unusually strong pay for the education length.4 areas · 3 written
- Skilled Trades & Industrial MaintenanceLicensed, hands-on work reached through apprenticeship rather than university. Several of these out-earn mid-tier degrees, start earning years sooner, and finish with no debt.4 areas · 1 written
- Earth, Environment & ClimateThe physical planet as a subject and as a workplace. Strong demand in Gulf economies for water, geology and environmental compliance work.4 areas · 1 written
- Aerospace & AviationAircraft, spacecraft and the systems that move them safely. Contains both long-degree engineering routes and licensed non-degree careers that pay very well.4 areas · 4 written
Four ways in.
- Open the mapThirty fields, opened one level at a time. Start wide, then narrow.
- I'm choosing subjects nowIGCSE, A-Level, IB, AP, SAT, Qudurat — what each one decides, and when to sit it.
- What can I study, and where does it go?Every degree here: what you actually study, what you need for it, and where it leads.
- I don't know where to startFifteen questions that point at areas worth investigating. Not a personality test.
Where this is up to
62 career pages have been researched and published, out of a planned set of around 180 — with at least one in every one of the 30 fields. Careers appear here only once they have actually been researched. There are no placeholder pages, because a page that guesses is worse than a page that doesn’t exist.
What is being sold
Nothing. No advertising, no sponsorship, no affiliate links, no email capture, no accounts, and no analytics of any kind — not a reduced amount of tracking, none. Anything you save is stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere.
